New Bajaj Pulsar 220 launched in India

India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto launched its second salvo, new Bajaj Pulsar 220 in Indian market. The new Bajaj Pulsar 220 is priced at Rs 70,000 (as ex-showroom prices in New Delhi) and is a premium segment bike with 200+ cc power plant that was first launched in late 2008. Bajaj Pulsar has been a most popular bike favored by those who want a fuel efficient premium bike. New Bajaj Pulsar 220 is aimed to target the performance bikers who are looking for a thrilling ride experience.

Speaking on the launching ceremony of new Bajaj Pulsar 220, Bajaj Auto Chief Executive (two - wheelers), S. Sridhar said, "We have been continuously evolving our Pulsar range bikes to offer our customers state-of-the-art model with unmatched performance and technology."

"The new edition of Bajaj Pulsar 220 has further raised the bar in the performance bike segment by becoming India's fastest bike," He added.

Bajaj Auto has removed the fuel-injection system from new Bajaj Pulsar 220 that was earlier present in the 220cc variant. Bajaj Auto currently sells 150cc, 180cc, and 200cc variants of Bajaj Pulsar in Indian market. With the launch of new Bajaj Pulsar 220 company expects healthy increase in its sales figures in this financial year.

Bajaj Auto targeted to sell around 175,000 - 200,000 units of bike per month month beginning the second half of the current financial year. The company already sold 165,697 units in the month of May 2009 that was down by 8.4% as compared to same period of last year.
