India's first
LPG bike is now ready to launch by the second largest two wheeler manufacturer of India, Bajaj Auto. Bajaj plans to launch first
LPG bike, Bajaj Platina LPG in the mid of 2009. The testing of 50 units of this bi-fuel bike,
Bajaj Platina LPG is going on in cities Sangli and Ahemedabad. Bajaj is tested this LPG bike which would support both LPG and petrol but the exact launch date of this bike is not yet disclosed by the Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj Platina LPG will have a 5 kg LPG cylinder apart from having a 10 litre petrol tank due to considering the fact that is the lack of re-fuelling stations of LPG in all regions.

The running cost of
Bajaj Platina LPG will be lower by the 35 to 40% over the petrol version of this bike because there will be a 20% drop in power delivery. Currently, Bajaj is working on to reduce the price of
Bajaj Platina LPG as they bear the additional cost of around Rs 10,000 per bike at production level so they are trying to reduce this cost by Rs 5000 before its launch. Considering the fact that
Bajaj Platina LPG offers 35 to 40% lower running cost,
Platina LPG would offer good saving without much compromise for power.
