Bajaj to launch KTM bike in Mayb

India’s second-largest two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto plans to launch KTM bikes in May in India to coincide with the festive season this year. According to the company officials, initially KTM bike launch as completely knocked down (CKD) kits, might by the second week of next fiscal. Bajaj Auto now preparing for the launch of high-end bike which might be takes place in mid-May.

The company official said that, Bajaj might also launched Kawasaki Ninja 250R in May-2009 with the price tag of Rs 2.5-3 lakh. Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj said that that the Kawasaki Ninja 250R would come in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) product, so that it is priced at over Rs 2 lakh due to import duty. Meanwhile, the two-wheeler major is launching its latest offering, the Bajaj XCD 135cc DTS-Si bike, that is available with drum brakes.

Vikalp Kapoor, regional manager of two-wheeler sales in Maharashtra, said that the Bajaj XCD 135cc DTS-Si that is fitted with disc brakes, will come into the market by the end of this weekend and is priced at around Rs 47,000 (ex showroom). The entry-level Bajaj XCD 135cc bike is priced just more than Rs 2,000 over the Bajaj XCD 125cc at Rs 43,000.
